I am going to be in the Chicago area this week and was hoping to visit the U-505 at the Museum of Science and Industry.

Can any Chicago people let me know the best way to get there via public transportation from O'Hare?

Thanks.

you would get a better response in a regional forum, maybe a mod can move this thread there for you, good luck

Hey thanks for looking out but I already made it to the U-505 no thanks to you guys :D

The U-505 exhibit at the Museum for Science and Industry is great and I highly recommend that anyone in or traveling to Chicago check it out.

Thanks for the link Paula. Don't know why but I thought that the U-352 was deeper.

A non-technical depth but it can be one heck of a boat ride out to it. NC weather!

Paula,

Have already done the U-352 which is a great wreck but is NOT a "sister" ship to the U-505. The U-352 is a type VII-C u-boat while the U-505 is a type IX-C which is a sister ship of 2 divable subs off the East Coast... the U-853 (off Block Island, RI 130 fsw) and the U-869 (off NJ, 230 fsw and subject of Shadow divers).

If anyone is interested I put a "report" of my trip to the U-505 on my dive blog http://mcjangles.blogspot.com/

Cheers,
Brandon
