I will be comming out to Wensy City in June for a week. My wife is visiting Schimer College for some reunion or function and I though I would drag along some dive gear.

Are there any charter out of the Chicago area in June? Or will I be looking at quarry diving?

Info on local shops, boats or people interested in diving between June 8 and June 15 would be appreceated. Do shops there rent dry suits? I am having suit issues right now and I would also rather not pack a suit if I don't need to.

There are two out of Chicago (Burnham Harbor). They are Dive Chicago and Windy City Diving. For quarry diving, the best place is Haigh Quarry located in Kankakee, IL, about an hour or so south of Chicago. I'd highly recommend Capt. Dale who runs the Enterprise out of Waukegan. An hour or so north of Chicago.

Let us know when you're coming. Many of us need an excuse to go diving. :)

Like Duane said, Let us know when your here. We will be having a Lake Michigan trip in June, date not planned, so we could plan it around your trip if your interested? Otherwise our lovely home, Haigh Quarry, will treat you well.. We have a cookout there every Sunday, your more than welcome :D

I need an excuse? Gee I wish someone would have told me sooner. :D

Thanks guys, I'll post again when it gets closer and let you know what my plans are.

Wife is now talking about staying closer to Bloomington/Normal which would seriously cramp my diving plans.

NOt too bad, I went to college at ISU. Your still only 1 hr from Haigh, which is the same distance we are, and your close(3hours) from Bonne Terre Mines, Mermet Springs.....

Hmmmm....

And I know for sure that there is a shop in Bloomington.

Maybe it will work? More to come...
