Hi Boardmembers

Quick question: Does anyone know if depth affects the duration of light output from chem lights? Temperature will slow the reaction and decrease output to some extent but does pressure?...Any legitimate input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I must admit I've used chem lights as a dive marker on my tank during night dives. However, you very quickly see that it's not a really good green solution. The depth didn't seem to effect the chem light it lasted the whole hour dive with no issues. I couldn't reuse it though.

If you're looking for a more environmentally friendly solution look for the battery operated slim markers that can be attatched to your gear.

I've had one for several years and haven't replaced the batteries yet.
