Checking up on NAUI CD credentials

Hi guys,

I'm a NAUI OW/Nitrox diver that got certified in the US during college. I just returned to Asia, back home to a certain country. I'm considering taking an AOW course sometime in the near future and have been looking for a shop that does NAUI courses. I've found a shop that has a NAUI course director, and was wondering if there was anyway to check up on the instructor's credentials. The shop is rather new, and I haven't been able to find the person's name in the NAUI member look up so I am slightly worried.

The shop does have an website, and I popped in the shop physically to take a look - they all look okay but frankly that doesn't mean anything. Was wondering if anyone could help check out whether the instructor's credentials check out or point me in the right direction.

I just found the instructor in the database, took a little work because he registered with his Chinese name and in the database it doesn't list his location. But his picture, name, number and courses he can teach match up. I just typed 'NAUI' and his name in google and it popped up. The NAUI search was actually less useful.

To answer your question: Shop was new, nothing shady except instructor number etc. wasn't listed on the website. But I did pay a visit to the shop and talk to the instructor and I never got the vibe that anything was wrong. Just making sure.
