We went out looking for sharks teeth Saturday and this guy on the boat surfaces with a 6.75 inch Megalodon tooth! It is one of the largest ones I've seen come off the site. He came up with about a dozen in all. Needless to say everyone was a little jealous.

Dive conditions were nice. 1-2 ft seas, 75F on the bottom, and 50-60 ft vis, the best I've seen it around the fossil ledge area.

EDIT: getting a picture upload failed message, you can see them here http://www.wilmingtondiving.com/meg.htm

Thanks for posting the pics.

Unfortunately I didn't find the monster tooth. I've found my fair share but the biggest tooth I've found is 5".

There are a few ledges in and around the Cape Fear and Onslow Bay NC region that are producing some good teeth. It's far offshore and in 90-100+ ft of water so the bottom time is limited but still a good time. I really want to try the Cooper River where you can spend a bit more time on the bottom and a few minutes on the boat ride out.

What a tooth? Where is the Cooper River area? Is there a dive shop to contact in that area?

Al

Cooper River is in the Charleston, South Carolina area.

That is soooooo cool!

I'm totally green and thinking it might be nice to visit family in NC, like, really soon.
