I need to replace my 6 inch HP hoses but they're $40 a piece? Why are they so pricey? Anywhere I can get them for cheaper? Thanks!

Remember that each hose, any hose, will have two end fittings swaged on, with a hydraulic swaging press. Two high quality fittings not made with pot metal or sharp edges to cut the hose, one hopes. If you went to a simple (construction or aviation) shop to have two fittings swaged on a hose, I'd bet on $8 per fitting and another $10 per for the swaging...so the hose is almost free at $40. By all means shop around--but sometimes, "bought cheap, paid dearly" applies. Especially if you can't really see the quality of the parts they're using.
