How much heavier we talking?? Significant? I just realised I haven't seen weight of either the 1st or 2nd stages listed anywhere!

I'd say they're comparable to the old Apeks TX seconds... which I think are 1/3 heavier than the ATX/XTXs. Maybe even a little heavieer than that

I have TXs on my deco regs and it doesn't bother me - I'm not doing much when I'm on them, and the weight kinda rests on your chin - but it's noticeable to me

I only did a few dives on the HOGs and again I noticed the difference but wasn't worried by it... but if you do longer dives it could be a fatigue factor

I also found the purge a little stiffer, but more so in comparison than as a concern

On the plus side, they're solid and are not going to get damaged easily - I think the Hog seconds have an alloy frame/body rather than plastic, can't remember now and obviously don't have them any more to look at - and the heavier purge spring means they won't get activated accidentally by strong currents

Thanks for the feedback. I reckon I'm going to be fine with them after all the reg I've used he most before these is a really old aqualing calypso hire reg!

Showed my brother in law the hog regs on the web tonight as mine aren't here yet and the first thing he said was that they're exactly the same as his tx50's!

Can't wait to get and dive mine!

Should be a big improvement for you then

They're similar to the TX but much more like certain Dive Rite seconds...
