Have a problem with that attitude.... Employees knowing if they are being "cheated"??? I always knew what I made and I knew what others made doing similar work under similar circumstances... So I never knew or for that much cared for knowing the essential profitability of those I worked for. What I was paid for was for what I could bring to the job and I knew in some some instances that I made more than some. So at some point, I would decide to move on or "up" considering more than just pay or sustainability. I never ever felt as though I was "cheated". Now if you don't have skills, or promote-ability or are unable to negotiate for compensation to your satisfaction - THAT IS YOUR PROBLEM... not the employers problem. Your career is your business, you must treat it like one and realize you are in competition in a market.
