I tried the new 4 way flex garment for the first time last Sat. at San Miguel Island. The water was warmer than I expected, running about 53-54 degrees. I was wearing the flex garment & matching booties, and on top of the garment I was wearing a DUI vest.

I was plenty warm! I could have removed the vest with no issues I think, but after dialing in my weight & trim I didn't feel like changing things.

In addition to the change of undergarments I also changed my tank so I'm not sure how it affected my total weight. I went from 30 lbs of lead & a steel 72 to 34 lbs of lead & a steel HP-100.

I'm sure I can dive in much cooler water with this undergarment. What was interesting is that normally I barely complete my dives before I have to pee.

This time, being so much warmer I didn't even have the urge. I did go before each dive, but only because I didn't think I'd last for two dives and a surface interval.

Being warmer really helps in that department!

Yeah, this guy is great. originally purchased a Large size 3 layer (based on the given measurement table) and received it in CA within 3 days. Delivered by USPS. Unfortunately, it was too snug (im 170lbs, 5 foot 8 )- i contacted via email and was told there would be no problem returning for a bigger size. My XL came yesterday (4 days after posting my return!) and its great. A little big (there may be sizing issues going on) but plenty warm i think for the monterey diving i do. In all, a great ebayer, perfect communications and customer service.

Anyone else notice the sizing issue?

If you don't mind, what are your chest and waist sizes? Thanks in advance,

No worries- my waist is a 38 inch and i have a 42 inch chest. I was so confused when the large didnt fit and the XL is a little big. But there is no middle ground, so bigger is better than having it too tight to reach for anything.

Has anyone compared either of these to the DUI 300 powerstretch? I'm curious as to how warm the two are compared to each other, in 50ish degree water.

Only in price.

I couldn't afford the DUI stuff, so this was quite a bit warmer. :D

I'm the same - $50 vs $400 (a little more for the Antartica). For that price I figured I could buy one of each from Ron and still be way ahead of buying the DUI garment.

From emailing back & forth to Ron, his Antartica is 25% thicker than the Powerstretch so it may be warmer (thickness isn't everything however).

I tried the Powerstretch 300 on during pool dives, but as it wasn't cold I really can't compare the warmth.

The Antarctica looks pretty bulky, however, compared to all-fleece jumpsuits I've seen (like the DUI nad Dive-Rite). Looks closer the Weezles and other big fluffy undergarments... and those big UGs are great for when the water temps are in the 40s, but overkill (and take too much lead to sink) for water in the 50s, just based on what I've read.

I'm just trying to find a replacement for DUI's suit that's just as warm (and just as comfy, and doesn't require 5 more pounds to sink it)... but no way I'm willing to pay $500 for it!
