Looking to book a trip down to the Channel Islands. I dove with Cal Boat Diving back in 2001 and had a great time but was curious if anyone knew of another charter around the same price range?

here is a listing of all the charters in So Calif:
California Dive Boats : The Official Page

I am guessing you dove with the Spectre in Ventura. From what I have seen, they are the least expensive boat however, they don't include food with the exception of a chicken w/salad lunch. Most other dive boats have more food and drinks included in the price (many include breakfast and all drinks excluding alcohol) and prices are a bit higher. So when you add in all the costs, many other boats are in the same price range. So take that into consideration when you see the prices - check to see what is included.

One day? multi day? One day, simple Annacappa, Id say go with the Raptor. Its a fast boat with gross amounts of food. No compressor, but they have steel tanks and weights for ya on board.

Oops sorry my original post got erased (taking care of kids :D) and I forgot to include that we are going for 2 days.

I was out on the Spectre for several days of diving in June. You can sleep on the boat for free the night before your dives. It was my first time diving in CA waters (usually dive in New England and tropics) and I found Spectre safe with a very helpful and friendly crew. On one day (with fairly bad seas) they worked very hard (and burned a lot of fuel) just to get folks to non-repeat sites -- I was very impressed with that. I would definitely look to use them again if and when I am fortunate enough to get back to So Cal. If memory serves, Spectre does offer an "all-inclusive" price (food and fills) for some weekend trips.

One of the best, if not the best, of all the boats going to C.I., including the food, crew, boat, overall operation, dive site selection, and even a hot tub! is:
