Hi-

I am having ridiculous time changing my veo's battery. When I try to replace the battery hatch with the new o-ring, I cannot get it centered well enough to allow for it to fit without part of the o-ring pushing out. I don't have access (ie, no car to drive) to a oceanic dealer until Monday, and I'm not thrilled about leaving it "exposed" until then.

Is there a trick I'm missing? I know o-rings are supposed to be tight, but this is impossible...

It will not hurt to leave the battery out other than losing your log info. I've yet to have problems changing my veo 200 batt(2x so far) so not sure what your problem is. Better to wait and let the dealer do it and perhaps he can show where you are having difficulty. Not alot of help I know but I'd rather see you do it correctly than mess up the ring, battery door, or the compartment.

I've changed my Veo 250 with no probs. If you're having trouble, it's definitely better to leave it exposed till you can get help from your LDS. If you posted a pic, maybe the community could help

Its really nothing I can take a picture of and have it be easily seen. When I place the hatch (with o-ring around it) on the battery compartment, I can't seem to push it into place without the o-ring popping out of where its supposed to be. I've used the silicon grease too, but it just won't fit.

Go figure, I'll just wait to take it in on Monday. Thanks all!

I hace a couple of comps, so I may be thinking of one of the others but...

I think there's a groove in the case itself. If you set the o-ring in there, then install the hatch, it goes much easier

Still no luck. Strange- I'm usually pretty good at this type of thing. I'm just going to rent tomorrow and take this stubborn thing in. If you've got any more tips, send em my way, but I think I'm gonna let the pros deal with it.

Thanks-
Anna
