Happy Tax Day. It’s a happy day here at Chamber Day HQ because we made a big leap last night as the Chamber Challenge has now passed $65,000!!!
This giant stride comes from the very generous efforts and contribution from the guys and gals of the Antelope Valley Desert Divers (AVDD) who have always been our top-donating dive club, first under the stewardship of Mike Orlando and now guided by Jeff Carlon. And since 2022, AVDD has come in at the $10,000 Diamond-donor level. So this marks their fourth year of contributing at that level. As a club, they have long recognized how valuable our Chamber is and the need to keep it on firm financial footing. They have various fund-raising efforts throughout the year to ensure that they can continue to support our Chamber at this phenomenal level. We thank them very much for this generous donation, which was presented to us last night by their Board of Directors at their monthly club meeting.
AVDD is joined this morning by longtime diver and Chamber support Louis Weisberg, who comes in at the Silver-level. Lou is an avid diver who knows that even though we take precautions, sometimes things can go wrong that require a chamber. And even though Lou does most of his diving in warm-water location now, he knows that our Chamber shares info and techniques with other chambers around the world and he feels his donations helps protect SoCal divers as well as others.
