Chamber Day

$55,000 is now in our rear-view mirror. How did we do it?
We started this part of our push with a $1,000 donation from D.A.N. (Divers Alert Network). Obviously, they’re interested in diving safety. In fact, that’s the focus of their existence. But they also support deserving chambers across the country and around the world with monetary grants and we’re very thankful to be a recipient of their generosity. (They also donate a rescue kit to the Chamber Evening raffle.)
On the Silver level at $500, we have a trio this morning. The first is in memory of Jim Cooper, an avid and regular diver (who I certified back in the early 1980s) from his wife Diana Cooper. Jim loved diving but also understood the risks and appreciated the availability of our Chamber. Our next one is in memory of Skip Tucker (from Laura Konowalski). Skip had a larger-than-life personality and absolutely adored diving. And he certainly understood the need for a Chamber like ours to be available 24/7/365. Our third Silver-level donor is longtime regular contributor Mark Stabb who has always understood the need for individual divers to contribute whatever they can to support our Chamber.
And we want to mention in this update the $250 Bronze donation from Carter Crary & Barbara Gentile of Malibu Divers. Even though they’ve been inaccessible for the past three months due to the Palisades fire, they still believe in supporting our Chamber. In the same way that firefighters were there for them, Malibu Divers is there for our Chamber because our Chamber also helps save lives. (Carter also let us know that once PCH reopens fully to the public, perhaps by May 31, they’ll be ready to receive customers again.)
We hope the stories in this update will help inspire you to pitch in with whatever you can to support our Chamber. There exists a variety of reasons as to why divers feel compelled to provide a donation and we hope that you will click on this link and let us add you to our list: https://usc.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_88ko1OUej3lAYbI
