We made it past $50,000 and that’s good news.
A large part of that leap goes to John & Nanez Turney with a $5,000 donation in honor of the CCD divers and the many contributions their research has made over the years to our understanding of the underwater world and specifically to the waters surrounding Catalina. John & Nanez are regular contributors and we are very pleased to have them back with us again this year.
On the Gold level with $1,000 contributions, we start with Peter Croke, a diver at the Aquarium of the Pacific but also someone who understands that when diving things go wrong, our Chamber may be all that stands between you and disaster. Peter’s joined at this level by D.J. Mansfield (a longtime member of our Steering Committee) who also fully understands the critical role that our Chamber plays in diver safety is SoCal.
D.J. also made a second contribution at the Silver $500 level in honor of his friend Graham C. Hufford. D.J.’s second donation is a good reminder that you can make a donation in honor of or in memory of a diver of your choosing.
We’re just over four weeks away from May 7 and we’ve got a long way to go to reach our fund-raising hopes. But with your help, we believe we can get there. So . . .
