Friday the 13th may traditionally be an Unlucky day, but it’s a lucky day for our Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber because . . . WE MADE IT PAST $50,000!!! In fact, we’re inching closer to $55,000.

We’re led this time around by a very generous Gold (in fact, a double-Gold) donation from Maja Vrvilo. Maja’s been diving these waters for a long time and she understand how crucial the availability of a hyperbaric chamber is to divers in bubble trouble. As well as being a donor for a number of years, she’s also a longtime repeat member of the Flying Dutchman crew as well so she really goes the extra mile for our Chamber.

We’re also quite happy to welcome a slew of Silver-level ($500) donors, some repeaters and some newbies to the Challenge. Two foundations have chipped in, both the Craig & Leesa Walker Foundation and the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles. They’re joined by James Whipple and Ethan Bush, two repeat donors, as well as Channel islands Dive Adventures, whose donation is in memory of Patrick Smith.

So we’re heading the right direction and we hope to keep the momentum going. Our next benchmark is $55,000. Who’s next? Who’s going to push us a bit closer? Here’s the direct donation link: Payment > USC Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber > USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences.

This is our updated honor roll of Challenge donors as of today:
