...I'd consider getting a pair of the cut-resistant gloves from the fishing dept of your favorite sporting goods or 'everything' store (Walmart, and such), in a size large enough to wear over your neoprene gloves.
Something like this:

'Course, that's about $25.00 a pair, but might be cheaper at discount superstores.
My neoprene gloves are 3mm 'fishing' gloves that I got for $8.00 from Walmart. It's hard to find the waterproof ones, though.
