A friend of mine was telling me about a Rock Quarry in Kentucky in the town of Cerulean that had Mining equipment at the bottom of it, the quarry was filled with water and after a year or so the water became crystal clear and was a great spot for diving. Does anyone have any more information on this?????? or is my info accurate. please let me know.

Did my openwater and advanced dives there many many moons ago. From what I remember it was a great dive site. The mining equipment is still there and it's pretty damn shallow (warm too.) If you're close I would give it a try.

I've been to that quarry a couple of times, and after the last experience I had there I won't be going back. The quarry is as the other guy said, very shallow. The vis was terrible both times, and the owner who had such a crappy attitude didn't open up until noon, which left us sitting for almost four hours waiting on him to get there when he knew we were coming, and he also acted like we'd asked him for his left arm when we asked to have our tanks refilled. Frankly, I don't know how this guy stays in business with the terrible attitude he has. I've heard dozens of divers since then complaining of the same types of treatment there.

There's a quarry that is much, much better than that one in Hopkinsville, Ky. It's called Pennyroyal Scuba Center. It's a certified PADI resort. The depths range from ankle deep to over 130 ft in depth. They have every convenience, (including nitrox). The prices are very reasonable. The visibility is always good, and the staff is some of the friendliest I've found anywhere. I highly recommend this place. Go to www.pennyroyalscuba.com for information.

I've been wanting a reason to go back there sometime soon, so if you need a dive buddy let me know, and maybe I can arrange to meet you there. Hope you find what your looking for. "Splash"
