I already wasted $400.00 on a dive class and the dives were in the springs. Too cold, my lips turn blue...

I know there are classes that do their dives in the keys, but are there any shops in the central florida area that do their class dives in warm water in central florida?

Got to get certified, life long dream.
Any info will be greatly apprieciated.

$400.00 for a class???? That's steep.

72-74 degrees is about as warm as it gets in the springs. Use a 7mm suit with a hood.

You could try some of the lakes. I did check out dives in lake Isis (I think that was the name of it) near Avon Park and it was fairly warm but murky.

I was certified by Scuba World, close to the intersection of 436 and 50 in Orlando. John (owner) and Noah are great people. I highly recommend them. They do their class dives in the Rollins College pool, and then a check out dive in Lake Denton, close to Avon Park. The only good thing about Lake Denton is that (a) it's shallow and not spring fed so it stays pretty warm, and (b) it will allow you to experience really crappy diving. It's murky and the dang fish swarm you, wanting to be fed. After Lake Denton, Scuba World typically takes you to Pompano or Key Largo for the final checkout dives.
