Thanks! Temple of Doom was one of my favorite dives due to the haloclines and the bright white walls and formations caused by the reaction with salt water. The entrance is indeed a giant stride. The jump itself is not too bad, it's getting the fins on standing on the uneven rock that was a little sketchy for me. Next time, the fins go on further back from the hole :) Climbing out on the ladder wasn't bad, as we had a tank sherpa who took our tanks in the water and climbed them up the ladder. I know, I know, wimpy. I don't care, I was on vacation :)

As far as Pet Cemetery goes, that is the only name I'm aware of, and we even asked Connie about the name and that was the only one she knew as well.

That's funny - I was about to ask how you liked getting up that ladder with tanks on! The first time I tried that one with doubles I swear I was this close to falling back in on that last step out. Actually, that was the dive that got me back to the gym so I wouldn't have to listen to the ribbing from my manly man partner... :)

Your pictures are just great - I wish mine would turn out that way!

I think Pet Cemetery is also called Mystic River. Did you drive in to Dos Ojos, but then go straight, past The Pit, and then to the end of the road, and it has really quite nice new bathroom facilities? Two entrances, one a ladder through a really tight hole, and the other a pretty tall set of stairs?

Thanks, I am really happy I got to take photos on the trip.

Yeah, that's the site. The stairs and platform are beautiful. The bano was also really nice. While we were there the owner was setting building a bench with some of his guys right were you park. It was barely started, and he said it would be done when we got out. Sure enough, it was all built by the time we finished our first dive. All made with just a chainsaw and a drill. Crazy!

Wow, these photos are really great. I especially like the halocline shot. You're very talented, and the photos are making me more excited about cave training in Mexico.

If you think Pet Cemetery was cool you will have to check out pet cemetery 2, a few thousand feet from the cenote is about the coolest cave feature I have ever seen.

Excellent photos and blog.

My profile photo (not avatar) is from the Dark Side of the Moon! Also really liked the Blue Abyss there at Pet Cemetary.

You guys had TANK SHERPAS? We had to climb out of Cenote Caracol and Temple of Doom with all our gear!!

Mind if I download your halocline photos?
