Tilden's Scuba Center and Dive Duck Key are my two favorite dive operations in the Keys- PERIOD! Sally, Tilden, and their crew are everything that is right with Keys diving. We keep going back to them for a reason- they are that good.

In addition....

Joe and Wendy of Dive Duck Key are awesome. I have been underwater with almost every operation between Key Largo and the 7 Mile Bridge. Of all the instructors I have met, Wendy is at the top of my list. If I had kids, she is who I would want to teach them to dive. That is no exaggeration- I would trust, without hesitation, Joe and Wendy to train and/or supervise my brother, father and mother.

I saddens and angers me that either operation is represented as anything but ethical, safe, and caring about their clients.

I used to run an internet campaign for a manufacturing company. Through the use of GoogleAds, you can pay to have your website come up first in searches based on whatever words you are willing to pay for.

You're talking about the paid results, not the organic results (ads appearing ABOVE and TO THE SIDE of the actual search results) You can't pay to improve your position in the organice results, which is what we're talking about here.

If you google CDNN and Tildens, you will find that this brand new thread ranks just behind it. It should overtake it in a day or two.

More importantly, if you simply google "Tilden's Scuba Center" (the most common search terms for the site) the CDNN story is second from THE BOTTOM of the page. Yesterday it was #4.

I've sent mike_s an email asking him to remove the direct link to that story from his post, which should help the CDNN story fall even further.

Here are the two links BELOW the CDNN story. Posting them here in an effort to push the CDNN story on to at least "page two" of the search results.

Well, you are kind of right. The right side of the screen is reserved only for companies paying, while the main portion of the screen is still ranked on a number of variables, one of which includes advertising dollars, currency of your website(frequently updated information), and keywords. At least it was a few years back when we were running the campaign. We used to get a really nice report from Google with all the statistics, and it wasn't just for the paid positions. Things may be different now, not that it really matters for the sake of this thread.

You can't "buy" better organic search results on google. You can only buy the sponsored links on the top and the side. Been involved in many e-marketing campaigns with budgets into 8 figures with some of the largest ad agencies in the world over the last 15yrs - if you could use ad dollars to buy better "organic" search results we would have figured out how to do so by now.

If you google Tilden's now that story doesn't come up. Thank you!!!!

Still on page 4 of results, but no-one will go that deep into the results.

Best of luck to you - and I'll be sure to look you up next time I'm diving in the area!

I have always found the articles in CDNN to be anti-diving.
I have never read anything in their online diving magazine, other than the ads, that promoted diving. I find their agenda to be confusing. What are they really about?

Many would argue that CDNN exists as a tool for extortion. The evidence seems to support this.

Which begs the question of why whoever ranks site listings at Google seems to hold them in such high regard? They always seem to be right up there on the Google hits.

Part of Google's ranking system is how many OTHER sites have links to the site they are ranking. The more people post links to CDNN the higher a rank CDNN will have.

The unfortunate fact is, a lot of people include a link to the CDNN website when they are talking about what a scam it is. Additionally, people visit the site to see what everyone is talking about and that also adds to their ranking if the user has the Google toolbar.
