Although i'm not sure about their professional training programs, I can comment on their diving classes. The DM I had was excellent and the rest of the staff seemed very helpful. Although it had a sort of "cattle boat" experience like many other people mention, I had a good time overall. I would go there again.

Hey Mark!

At the time of your posting you were working at Aqua World, it would be interesting to know your opinion now that they fire you!

Look, I know this post is from long time ago, but here is an updated if it is any good.

Manta divers - terrible, horrible, mean and greedy, plus take care of your YOUNG daugthers, some perverts around there!!!!

Suba cancun - I can`t really mention about them, as I have only HEAR, not expirienced personally, but the opinions were not so good.

AquaWorld! ... please ... they are like a fast food restaurant, and carefull with your own gear, as many of the people working there are knwon to be tiefth ...

Do I know good instructors? Yes, many have left cancun, but still some very good decent people there that will not rip you off, I know of Alex in wich I did personally did some training with him ... I`m sure their are more, but this is the one I still keep in touch.

Hope this helps someone ...

Well I wouldn't trust my young daughters around ANY young males these days. Being a guy I know that most men are pigs, so that comment about Manta strikes me as funny.

Anyway, I dove with BOTH Manta and Aquaworld in Oct.2005 and I don't have anything amazing or terrible to say about either op.

Manta (my Cancun Dive): Smaller sized Dive Op, where everyone seemed friendly. I got stuck on a dive with a bunch of open water students doing their tests, so the dive sites (and shallow depths) sucked. I didn't notice any perverts...

Aquaworld (my Cozumel Dive): Large operation, very professional. Pros: Very well kept equipment, and I will have to admit that the pre-dive info was a lot more thorough than at Manta. They prep all your gear for you, so all you have to do is sit back in the BCD, strap yourself in, and jump off the back of the cattle boat. Cons: Being so large of a place, it took FOREVER to sign everyone up, load the bus, and get down to PDC for the ferry. Everyone meets in the same spot, no matter if you're snorkelling, diving, underwater-boating, etc.

Actually, sorry, I didn`t mean in the boat, but more INSIDE the shop ... their owner is a bit of a pervert ... had no heard anything like that about the staff ... I cought him twice looking at a very young girl inside the shop trying on her tiny wet suit, and then outsite looking at another young girl with her father getting into a car ... it made me feel sick to the stomag ... :-(

I do not love Aquaworld, but the only reason why is because, the tours are too large, too many people i won't ever dive with them ever again, but service wise, they are great.

Manta, i had a great time with them, John the owner was nothing but nice to me, as well as his wife Mimi, the Instructors Lief and Alex great people.
