Hi,
I sold my Draeger Dolphins last week. I enjoyed diving with it but I have to pause 2-3 years with rebreather. This is why I sold the equipment. But I would like to use the time to get an overview which CCRs are available and what others like or don't like. The only CCR I tried until now was the Buddy Evolution which I didn't like to much.
I know some rebreathers from the UK, from Germany but there are some more in the US which I maybe don't know. The KISS looked good.

Thanks. I know this website but it was out of my mind :-) I am getting old :-)

Might be interesting to do a straw poll on SB to see which RBs most users use.

Or at least which rebreather SB users who answer straw polls use:D

Yes right, would be interesting.
Some of them seem to have 5 different CCRs :-) On a rebreather trip a guy had the KISS. I liked it because of it is size.

I'm going to pull the trigger on a RB soon. I am not a fan of the Evo/Inspo. Too much "stuff" on the rig, too many buzzers and alarms. I am leaning towards either a Shearwater'ed KISS or rEvo. I like the idea of a mechanical rebreather vs. eCCR. I'll need to do some modifications for deep diving, but the mods are fairly simple. If I did end up going w/ an eCCR I would likely get a Meg or a hybrid rEvo.

The Buddy was like a door on my back. I will carry a Ex1 as well, so this is not an option. The KISS sounds good, hardly no electronics but not available in Germany.

I dive the rEvo and love it, had a buddy that dove/dives a Kiss Classic and he loves it, have another buddy that dives a meg and she loves it. Also know more than one that converted from KISS/Meg to rEvo's.

In addition to a visit to RBW a great investment you should think about is Mel Clark's book "Rebreathers Simplified". She goes through nuts and bolts of rebreather diving then about 100 pages of pictures of guts for most rebreathers. No name calling on any of them just how they work (if you get to know her she'll let you know which ones she doesn't like;)).

I wish I would have bought the book before I got the rEvo, wouldn't have changed the unit I bought but would have affected my configuration, maybe even put off the purchase another 6 months or so, so I could afford a better configuration initially:D. Now I get to add another part every month.

its not that uncommon.. You start to collect them... I currently own 8 CCRs..
