Hello all. Thought I might bring everyone up to speed on Cayman Brac. Things are moving along well here. Indepth Watersports is diving and is pumping air at this point and will be doing Nitrox by the end of Feb. The new boat is awesome, we dove Bloody Bay Wall today and made it from the cut in Cayman Brac to Bloody Bay Wall in 20 min. Came back in 3' seas in 30 min and two people fell asleep.. She is going to work well for us.. Her name is Karma by the way. The Reefs and Walls here are excellent and I have seen very little damage to the undersea wonder if any at all. As evil as that storm was, it did not have big seas with it like a normal Cat 5 storm would have had.
DoT has not lifted the tourist ban as of yet but we expect that very shortly.. Alot of people are coming down to help and are staying in private houses.
Indepth Watersports can advise you of any and all rental houses on the island that have currently passed DoT inspection. We are working on three houses right now which will be ready by mid Feb and our place on the north side with 4-2 bed 2 bath on the north west end on sand will be ready all new and shiny by mid to late April.
Cleavland, Is about done with the new 30 room hotel and its looking nice. He expects a open date early in March.
So there you go.. If anyone is thinking about coming down anytime after the first part of March. I think the only thing you will see is alot of new construction.
If anyone has any questions and they want the real answers about what is going on down here please feel free to call our toll free number at 1-866-476-2195,
Best to you all and hope you are all staying warm..

It is great to hear some good news from Brac, thanks so much Craig. Already planning a trip down there very soon now... will call you .... thanks again.

Good news! Thanks for your post. Your boat sounds awesome. Where can I find more information about house rentals on the Brac? Can you tell me about more about the diving from your OP, mainly just how many dives/day, dive profile (time in the water), and surface interval time/location (boat, shore, dive OP)? If you stay in a rental house, do you have gear storage at your OP? Do you offer valet diving?

Thanks bud,, Saw a zippy little black tip at Wilderness Wall today.. rough and windy but the diving was excellent and the boat performed very well.
See you soon !
Craig

Thanks for the interest Scuba Monster.
I will try to fill you in on a few things we do. Its not really rocket sience or anything. We depart daily for a 2 tank dive at 10am. We dive to the ability of the guests and simply look for the best place to dive based on the conditions and our gut instient of what might be going on. We tend to do alot of wall drift diving and consider sometimes three moorings as one dive site.
(One Way Dive). We ask that our guests dive with in the no deco limits of thier computers and come back on the boat with 500psi. We give min. 3000psi fills. We give you a computer if you dont have one to use while you are here. We also include Nitrox in our price as we think everyone should be diving it. Most of our guests do hour plus dives, the record so far is 94 min. by a long time poster on this site.. HH.
Sense the storm we have moved our breathing air systems down on the south side and are running from the Gov. Dock or the Scott dock on the north side.. It works well.
We do take care of your gear the whole time you are here and provide " Valet" service.
We only take 10 dives max and do have 1 tank afternoon dives too. Sometimes we stop in Little Cayman for lunch with guests and are looking into doing a sunset cruise once a week. Pretty much we just have fun doing what we do. Which means you should be having fun too ~
Always feel free to call our toll free number which is on our web site. (indepthwatersports dot com) If you miss us please leave a contact number and we will call you back. We dont sit around here and wait for the phone to ring but we do return our calls.
I hope that answers some of your questions and thanks for your interest.
we do have a indepth watersports site on youtube as well as a facebook page, check tripadviser dot com for some customer feedback.
Best and safe diving,
Craig
