Prior to 01Oct06 - it was 70 pounds total. I sent an email to customer service asking if it was 55 pounds total or 55 each bag. Written poorly on the website. I'll post if and when I get a response.

I'm still waiting for your post, maybe you never recieved a response.

Not very good customer service - I haven't had a response and judging from the time -I'm not expecting one. Probably will be best if I call. I'll post if that's successful.

Hoping that someone whose flown CA since 01Oct will post.

I called a few weeks ago and was told 55lbs total weight for 2 bags per person and 15lb total for carry-on. Now these regulations come out, but I'm confused about:
"Between The USA and the Caribbean and within International Points in the Caribbean"

from the website:
free allowance – Checked baggage:
Between The USA and the Caribbean and within International Points in the Caribbean

Business class passengers are
allowed the following:
3 pieces of luggage that do not exceed the linear dimensions of 62 inches each with a maximum weight 55lbs per piece
1 carry-on piece that does not exceed the linear
dimensions of 45 inches each with a maximum
weight of 40lbs per piece.

Coach passengers are allowed the following:
2 pieces of luggage that do not exceed the linear
dimension of 62 inches each with a maximum
weight 55lbs per piece.
1 carry-on piece that does not exceed the linear
dimensions of 45 inches with a maximum weight
of 40lbs per piece.

Not sure what is considered an International point?

I'll try calling again.

an international point to Cayman would be anything other than GC-LC-CB.

The weight limit on the interisland flights on the small planes has been 55.

(DAE is also small planes and has a low weight limit.)

We're flying 02Dec - 737 from Miami to Cayman Brac. There are no "puddle jumpers" listed on the schedule.

I'm going to take what I want and pay whatever they want. I'm not planning on leaving my camera home - Dive trips are why I have it !

If I get nicked heavy duty, I'll be sure to post on my trip report when we return.
