Way to go! welcome to the wonderful world of caverns.......

Interesting...first I would like to say congrats! Second, me and my buddies are thinking about taking this class, as we dive lot of springs. What kind of skills did you learn, and have to perform in the open water test. How many and what kind of written question were there on the final test? Sorry for so many questions, just wanting to know what to except.

Thanks a lot!

You learn to initiate and continue contact, including communication through contact in a no-viz situation. You learn to how run and reel in line, follow line in an OOA and no viz (and both) situation. You'll learn light signals, proper propulsion techniques, etiquette, proper positioning, situational awareness, task loading, working well as a team, and most of the academic 'basics' for cave and cavern diving.

I would say that there were maybe 50 questions on the test? They all stemmed from the academic materials I read and was given before the class (NACD workbook, Sheck's blueprint book, and several other small articles sent to me by my instructor).

Thanks a lot man....I am not so much interested in cave diving. I really love diving the caverns though, they are a lot of fun.

This will most certainly be a good class for you. I'm progressing (slowly) into cave diving, and this is the first step. As far as awareness and cavern safety, this will definitely make you a better diver.

Good incite, thanks for the info!

What did (does) the course cost?

Check out Johnny's website for pricing. It goes up or down depending on how many students are in the class.
