one more thing in the cave they were talking to each other from underwater with out a full face one? *** how do you do that ...
For the movie the communications were added in the sound studio.

In reality it is possible to install a mike directly into a DSV. The quality of the conversation is considerably less than it would be with a FFM, but if you stick with single word signals it works. Scout through Oceant Technology Systems' website or catalog and you'll find pictures of such installations.

doesn't your voice sound unnaturally high-pitched?

Mine? No. :06:

Another noted cave explorer is Dr. Jerome Meynie, who used a MK15.5 for years down to 184 m (604 ft) and now the Ouroboros to 182 m (597 ft) exploring french cave systems. More info on the dives his team does can be found at Snoopyloop.com. :D

well, i meant "anyone's" voice

Maybe its the helium.

LOL. i was worried there for a moment.

On quality comms you get pretty good sound quality.
He does indeed cause a problem, comms used for deep diving with
high He content need to be electronically altered to be understandable.

if you ever get the chance to do a dry dive in a chamber, like i have had quite some times... You should hear your own voice as you get down. And this on normal air, not any helium mixtures. We were 6 guys doing a dive to 50meters in the bell on air, and being narced as well and listening to yourself sounding as donald duck, we could bearly control ourselfs from the laughter.

Did one to 40 meters, but don't remember high pitched voices.
Probably didn't hear them as I was cracking up with laughter when three of the
other four were narked out of their skulls ... one of them mooned the operator
through the little observation port. :D

Cavers use rebreathers in Europe much more than do we.

Fountain of knowledge. Again, anybody have pair of knitting needles so I can blind myself. :05:

Stefan, i thought i paid you of not to tell anyone...

It is amazing though now narced you get and dont realize it before something like this happens, it does not take much, a mooning, someone saying a word that sounds like donald, someone farting... (lets not even go there:crossbone :bomb:)
