Hi

We will be in Croatia in the last week of September. We would like to spend 1 day diving (1-2 dives). We are intersted in doing a cave dive. We are experienced divers but we never dived in caves.

There are so many sites and we don't know which one to choose. We are looking for a place that will have good weather/sea conditions in this season and best underwater views.

Our trip is from Zagreb to Dubrovnik, so all the coast line is good for us :10:

Thanks

You can dive in Croatia with some diving center (you have to pay for dives and for license $15 - valid for one year) or by yourself which means you have to pay full license (cca $600 - also valid for one year). IMO diving with center is better option for you.

Regarding cave diving, most diving centers offer cavern diving (and still call it "cave diving"). As you know, real cave diving requires little bit more skills, education and experience.

In Southern Adriatic I can recomend Vis (Bisevo) and Korcula (both islands) with several interesting caverns.

can we pay for the licence in the diving center or do we need to do it in advance?

Every diving center regularly sell these licences (100 kn = $17), so don't worry - just don't forget your C-card.

you can pay in the center (some centers don't require any license at all - so you have to ask)
btw. north part of the coast is shallow and vis. can be an issue, the southern part is much deeper and vis. gets much better...

btw. most dives in croatia are around 30m depth (or deeper) so be prepared... (but currents and tides are very small so it shouldnt be a problem)

how is the site called "the cave" in Brac island? Is it also so deep?
is there a good cavern in Cres? The site of the diving club there was in German so I couldn't understand ...

I saw that the trasportation to Vis is once a day, so it might be a problem for us.
We have to see if we will be in Korchula not in the day of our flight home
