I am serious! If you still dive the rules and dive solo it is very safe! Has nothing to do with your buddy! If you want to debate it start with the statistics!:D
The statistics? The fact is we've lost several good divers while solo diving. Extremely useful statistics don't exist for cave diving, period. We know that solo diving tends to take the majority of trained cave diving deaths, however there's almost always multiple factors that go into a cave accident, so blaming it on solo wouldn't be appropriate.

I have no issue with solo diving, and I agree I can see situations where it's useful (tight passageways where silt is being stirred up), but I can also see situations where people currently dive solo and there's no need to.

Lot's of people have poor buddy skills and attempt to mask those by diving solo, this extends outside of overhead diving.

The video is technically very good! The music matter of choice, it is boring for non-cavers, where did the stage bottles go, and why was the lead diver wearing gloves? That's a big no no and makes them look like tech divers that went into a cave? Ours was older footage shoot with a Sony 310! In 2001! But it gives it an unexplored look! it's about so much more than the camera! All in all I liked it because I am a wonk for this kind of thing!
Isn't cave diving with gloves common practice in other countries?

I was taught you have to be able to feel the line! A few years ago a female Cave diver lost her life because of gloves! I think it was in Ohio or there abouts in the late 1990's or early 2000's? So if your in Florida do as the Floridians? Just an observation! I liked it. but I can spend a whole day looking at the holes in my Aquarium rocks!;)

Yah. Some places are sufficiently cold that you can't do without them. Hell, you can't feel the line if you can't feel at all :D

If you dive the Sala Mine in Sweden, you'll be wearing gloves. The water 2°C year round!

Being from SOCAL, would you penetrate the Yukon without gloves?
