I decided not to order a swivel with my regulator purchase. I wanted a Deep 6 Signature first stage (I missed not having a turret on my Scribble). I’ll keep this is mind for my next order. Thank you for your feedback.

I've been using the CA swivels on all my regs for 3 or 4 years now. I haven't serviced any of them (not that I'm proud of that, mind you), and none have had an issue.

That said, I'm starting to remove them from some of my regs. They do allow me to have shorter hoses, but, for example, on a bungeed necklace, I've decided the shorter hose really is a silly tradeoff for a swivel that COULD come apart.

I know this is an old thread, but still relevant
I found this video on YouTube:

I really like having a second stage swivel. Comparing the Omni-Swivel 2.0 vs the XS-Scuba Ball Swivel, which do you think is more reliable assuming real-world use (i.e. - imperfect maintenance).

Not to disagree to the point of saying someone is full of it but…

I have and use Omni, I’ve got both the old and the new type and never had any issue, I’ve obtained all of mine used and have even done the upgrade on two of them to the type 2, it is a better design by a small margin. Service kits are available and reasonable so keeping them in top shape is easy.

I like it when people get caught up in other people’s dogma and dump high quality stuff on the market for a song ;)

Which reminds me, the Atomic TFX second stage will kill you, the first stage is wonderful so you can keep that but send me the second for proper disposal.

The Atomic swivels and the USA made genuine Omni swivels are safe to use for recreational diving and the plethora of various 70/90 degree swivels are as reliable as the hose fittings themselves. I am not familiar with the XS swivel, it does appear a bit complicated. I am going to continue to use 70/90 degree swivels of good quality (DGX) and braided hoses.
