You have a very important point there.

Last night, a dog was running loose on a local freeway. 911 literally lit up like Times Square from all the callers reporting it.

OTOH we've had shootings where few, if any, have called it in.

I like animals, but somehow I think it's perverted when more people will report a dog loose on the freeway than the murder of a fellow human being :shakehead

I love animals. Dogs are wonderful high maintenance (walks, poop, training, biting, jumping, walking, rides) pets where cats allow me to share some space with them. I have two cats and wish I had the space and the time for a pup.

Yep, the dogs are great, we have two, all outside, no smelly beds, no "taking a walk" while the dog s--t's on someone elses lawn. Our cats keep the rats and mice in check and are way less maintance then the needy dogs-beagles. Love them all.

I like dogs, but too much work, and not good for my apartment! I prefer the independence that cats display, how they like to be petted, but are fine without constant attention. My dive instructor's cat is the best cat EVER. It is a huge Maine Coon named Oliver. His head is the size of a baby's!
