Well we both like to solo deco dive, we have that going for us at least.

Yeah the exit at Cat is never easy at any tide. If there are tubular waves crashing over the rocks you don't want to dive. For the effort required for a shore dive, in my opinion, there is Cat and everything else is getting wet to get wet. A winter shore dive at Cat is a good day's exercise followed by cold beer and warm chowder. Man if I did not have that I don't think I could live in NE.

Be careful getting out at Cat - like Chris Farley says - "Stay low so as not to be detected" when walking up the slippery slope. Keep your CG low and brace yourself against the rocks walking up.
