Can anyone tell me if it's possible to do Cathedral at low tide? If so, what's the entrance / exit you would use?

From what I've heard and read, it seems like everything really needs to be just right to do this dive. Am I just asking for trouble at low tide?

Thanks,
Chris

Thanks for the info Steve. That's what I figured.

Can it be done? Yes. Have I done it? Yes. Would I do it again? No.

Should it be done? Probably not. Good way to knock yourself silly. Getting in isn't so bad on your hands and knees, but getting out is a real challenge, especially if it's rough at all.

Ditto to what's been said.
I've done it as well at low tide. One day I'm going to try running a line out from the left side of the regular entry area to make that crawl back up a little easier. Even with that - any swells would make it a no-go.

imo, low tide makes the entry/exit a little tougher, but not that big of a deal.

Which is a better dive castle rock or cathedral rock and a better entry?

Tide makes no difference for a nice dive at Cat. High tide you giant stide off the "finger". Low tide you sit on the finger, step down into the crevice on the right (by way of a large rock), then carefully walk into the water, not a big deal at all.

Until you have to get out on the slippery rocks and fall on your head.

One more thing we'll have to agree to disagree about, Matt ;)
