What Maui dive ops current dive the Carthaginian? Seems like this might be an interesting dive, but I haven't seen it mentioned in any recent posts.

Lahaina Divers and Maui Dive Shop both do it in the afternoon. My pick would be LD. I also recall seeing a post about Maui Dreams doing it with scooters, but that may have been the St. Anthony.

Maui Dreams mostly does the St. Anthony on scooters, though I believe they've taken customers out to the Carthaginian once or twice.

In order to do it on a scooter, you have to be either really good on air, or diving with a rebreather... it's a long ways out, and it's deep (keel is in 91')

Be sure to ask LD about the instructor discount (50%).

How far from shore is it? I am guessing it is not a swimmable distance?

Here's the GPS Coordinates: 20.84895,-156.67016

Direct to shore, it's about 2/3rds of a mile. That'll bring you right to around Puamana.

If you go from Launiupoko, it's 1.25 miles by the Google Earth measurement. :)
