OK, I dont know if this is the right forum to post this in but I couldn't decide where else it would go, so here it is!

The other day I was out eating in my (formerly) favorite restaurant and I noticed that over in the corner, they had a claw machine so you could put in $2 and try to catch your own lobster and I am assuming they would cook it for you.

It was one of those machines with the stuffed animals in it, when you try to get the claw to grab a stuffed animal. Well yea, same thing but instead of stuffed animals, they had lobsters in a tub of water!! Some even had $5 and $10 rubber banded to there claws!!

Does anyone else think that this is cruel to the lobsters or is it just me, I dont even think that they would be able to have such a thing in there restaurant!!

I would put my $2 in for a cooked lobster....mmmmm pass the butter.:D

Seems a tad cruel to me.
Then again they're all going to get cooked anyway, and until you've heard lobster "screaming" from being cooked, a claw machine will seem tame.

But like stangscuba said.....mmmmmmmmmm............lobster.......*insert Homer drool*

they've got one of those in a steak house near me...the deal is, if you catch it, they cook it for free...I'm assuming that if you want side items such as potato, etc. that it's an extra charge or something...how is it any more cruel than the lobsters sitting in a tank in the grocery store...you tell the man behind the seafood counter to pick out a couple for you and it is the same thing...a big hand coming down to pick one up at random...doesn't seem any more cruel to me...and it's certainly not any more cruel than conning one out of it's comfy hole with a big stick only to be swooped up in a net headed for certain doom....I got a tail thawing as we speak!!!

I haven't heard of these, and I can see where some people would find such a device cruel, crass, and offensive.

Call me a hillbilly, I think it's hilarious......(No Dummy ! Grab the one with the #10 in his claw !)

ROTFL! Do you catch your own cow?! Cripes man, how big of a claw is that?

If you don't want em killed, put in your money and take home a pet!

just like Homer did.. he put it in the bath tub but ran the hot water too long and had a nice lobster dinner... while he was crying... oh well,

i think what we're saying is, It's cruel, but it would happen to them anyways... so it's not unusual...
therefore making it legal.
