Due to the abundant sunlight recently, water temps have warmed up slightly and phytoplankton have bloomed giving the ocean a very productive, but visibility-limiting green cast. However, the squid are running and there are tons of pyrosomes ("fire salps") in the water as well as angle sharks, torpedo rays and others feasting on the abundant dead squid.
