My wife and I were married in Catalina two years ago and spent our honeymoon diving. We haven't had an opportunity to return since then so planned a one week anniversary vacation starting this Sunday, the 18th. However, the forecast seems to have taken a real turn for the worse, with a high probability of rain nearly every day that week. Time to cancel? Any suggestions?

Matt

Rain is just God's way of rinsing your gear for you.

Go dive and go enjoy your anniversary the same way you enjoyed your honeymoon. Indoors. ;-)

Thanks for the common sense advice, Fisheater :^)

Rain forecast for this weekend? There are frequently forecasts for rain that hit the mainland, but leave the island sunny and slightly overcast.

Another way to take the positive side of it: rain forecast is great, it means the dive park will be very quiet ;-) Viz is really good right now as well (at least last week).

We'll be there the whole week (18th through 23rd).

I was on Catalina right after some seriously heavy rain back in mid-January. Conditions were fantastic....vis was nice and the island was pretty quiet. I'm certain that we hit the one shore diving location that would have been diveable.

If all else fails, a boat will take you a bit further away to where the water is nicer....but I suspect the diving will still be nice :)
