Thank you for all the replies. I'm planning on staying on the island. I spoke with Hermosa Hotel and they were offering some pretty cheap rates around $100 per night. I will update you guys as my plans progress but I appreciate the replies as it has increased my confidence to make this trip solo if need be. Thanks again.
