Anybody have a map of the name of dive sites on the very west end of Catalina between Arrow point and Black Point (Cove Rock)? I have a Franko Map and Catalina map but there are only a few names for the reefs and coves. I know of a Starbbright which is the first cove west of Arrow point but no names of most of the coves and reefs.

One major problem with dive spot names is that many dive boat operators use different names for the same spot. As a marine biologist, this has flustered me for years. When divers mention seeing an unusual species and they give a name for the dive spot that even us island residents aren't familiar with, it gets a little confusing to try to record the new sighting. In many ways GPS coordinates are better... as long as you specify the specific datum you are using.

The map Phil has posted is pretty consistent with the names we use out here.

Thanks Phil, But like i said there are only a couple names of the coves between Arrow point and Black Point. There are at least 5 coves in that stretch with nice reefs and no names. And as Dr. Bill said I would like to call them by a correct name that most people use...
