There is a cove/dive site, sandy bottom, with an orange and white barge "so-and-so Memorial Barge" towards the west end of the lee side of the island. Anyone know the name of the cove?

Otter- must admit, you've got me. Not familiar with the barge and I don't get up towards the West End as often as I used to when I had my own boat.

I figured if anyone knew, you would! I'll keep digging.

Thanks

It must have a name. Therefore we must keep digging or Otter will want to call it Otter Cove.

I have found that different mainland boat captains have different names for some of the Catalina coves... and they often do match the officially recognized names that have been given to them here on the island. Given that, I made a map that named a number of our mountains, canyons and coves after me!

Dr. Bill,
What, having the fish over there named after you isn't enough, now you're going after the landmasses as well? ;)

I never realized that there were a lot of billfish in the waters of Catalina.

I'll start with the boat Capt of the Sand Dollar.

Thanks

Ok, if I could figure out how to post a link to a post in another thread, I would do that, but as it is I spent far too long just searching for the relevant post, so I'll just direct you to it. Look at post #8 of the thread in the SoCal section titled "Catalina Dive Park - So Cal Dive In #2" to get what I was referring to.
