Someone else from the trip can add a detailed trip report if they'd like; I'm feeling much too lazy.

Despite a few last minute no-shows, and somewhat poor surface conditions that forced us from our original plan to hit the Fog wreck and oil rigs, we made it out to Catalina Island this past Saturday for three pleasant dives.

First site we hit was Blue Caverns. Love this spot. We scootered around, poking our heads into various small caverns (which are filled with lobsters).

Second dive was at Bird Rock. We scootered about halfway around, before returning to and exploring the west wall. Visibility wasn't great here, but overall, lots of fun. I shot some video:

Final dive had us heading over to Sea Fan Grotto. Jumped in again with the scooters and we motored back and forth from Spouting Cave to Blue Cavern Point. The wall here has some great structure.

Finished off the day with an excellent group dinner (which everyone from the charter was able to attend).

Nice video! Always love seeing those shots of the kelp forests.

Chris, I am not sure there are many more details that need to be added to your trip report. You hit all the highlights, except one, water temp was 54 for all 3 dives. :)

Oh, there are some other "highlights":

(1) Me almost losing another fin off the Sea Bass (saved when I dived in after it with the other fin still in hand).
(2) Everyone in singles and 32%, except *someone* who brought double HP130s with 21/35 (for 80' dives). [That guy must just get narced out of his gourd.] :)
(3) Me managing to almost take out both of my buddies on one dive during "scooter acrobatics".

And, BTW, where's your video???

Chris - As always, I enjoyed your video and others you've posted online because they allow me to dive vicariously through you and your buddies. :D

The kelp forest is beautiful. Thanks for posting your video.

As for the other "highlights"....:rofl3:

Thanks, Sam! As you well know, we're all just waiting for you to join us out here for some trips. :)

54-F water temp? That's like summer water time.:D

Lol, for those with adequate undergarments and non-leaking suits, it wasn't bad at all.

Chris, NICE!:D
I love the "Little Geek" reference on the scooter as well - very clever.:rofl3:
