I'm taking my wife to Catalina next weekend, for our 6th anniversary. I'm planning to go diving on Sunday. Would love to meet up with some SB follks who happen to be going out, too.

I have plans of catching the 7:45 out of Dana Point. The 1.5 hour ride sure beats having to drive up to Long Beach from San Clemente at that hour, and for only $2.00 more p.p.

Anybody have any personal experience with the Dana Point Catalina Express? Just want to be sure we can take our dive gear with us.

Looks like we would be getting into Avalon about 9:15 or so. Is this kinda late for picking up tanks and weights? Or, do you think we would still be OK?

As you can probably tell, this is the "type a little, research a little, type a little more" kind of post. A bit disjointed. So, I'll quit here and wait for some responses.

Thanks in advance.

Rich

Don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to get tanks and other stuff. I'd meet you there, but will be out of town this weekend.

As usual, I will be there all weekend. I'll have a white jeep parked near the stairs with "OFFIE1" on the license plate. Will be doing working dives, but always enjoy meeting SB folks who come out to the Park and happy to give any advice requested (for what it's worth).

I'll make it a point to stop by and introduce ourselves.

Took the Dana Point Ferry a few weekends ago. Sure is easier than driving all the way to Long Beach. Nice crossing too. We had no problems with getting our equipment on board. We did not bring tanks though. Also, they ask that you carry your weights on with you...
