Hey, 2 new divers here. We want to go diving at Casino Point in Avalon, CA tomorrow (November 15th). Marine forecast (see links below) says 20% chance of rain, SW wings 5-10 kt, increasing as the day progresses. W swell 2 ft at 15 seconds and wind waves 1-3 feet. There is a gale watch in effect starting at 6 pm tomorrow. Can anyone who is familiar with the area advise us on whether or not this would be safe to dive in for 2 new divers? Also, do you think the ferry will still run in the afternoon/evening? We don't want to get trapped on the island overnight! Thank you!

Probably good that you didn't come out (assuming you didn't). They were announcing potential cancellations of late afternoon ferries early on. I know the 2:05 went and I'm pretty sure the 3:45 went as well. Not sure after that. It did blow pretty hard over here (lifted one of my heavy deck chairs off the ground... a first!)

Yeah, we ended up not going out to dive yesterday. Figured even if the conditions were dive-able, it wouldnt be very enjoyable with the wind and potential for the ferry to not run. Next time!
