Hi Slyvester. Another forum, and we meet again. If your interested in Fuller Lake maybe we can get a group together and go down. Like I said in the other forum, my wife and I went down to check it out but never got around to diving it. I think were done for the year (diving wet) but there is always next spring.

Are you diving dry? I wanted to get a dry suit, but we had a lot of expenses the past two years, so a dry suit got put on hold.

But I will keep you in mind when we head out.

Jeff

JRRKAR, I grew up in that pasture! :) Folks, we absolutely need to get together and dive! Amazing, I've been on this board for a while, and this is probably the first time that I've looked at this forum. I'm usually persusing the Ontario Fresh Water Freaks forum (it's like my second home - well, in spirit anyway). If anyone cares, I'll be mud diving/digging in the Conestoga Saturday and diving at Wabank on Sunday.

-Frank =-)

Jeff, I am also diving wet. Did you seen my note about the 16th? I can get away then for a dive or two. I could do Fuller then but it would only be a one day since I only have 1 tank. BSC or willow springs could be a 2 dive day at a higher cost for entrance fees where Fuller lake has not cost associated with it besides getting there.

I have to go to BSC soon anyway and get my tank filled.

on the good side I hear Willow and Bainbridge water temps dont get much colder inthe winter then in the summer due to the spring feed. I wouldnt know bit will find out in a few months I guess. If i can handle the air temp to change in to my gear.

Hi Slyvester, I did see your post about the 16th. I saw this forum right after and I forgot to reply. I can't do it this weekend. We have commitments for both Saturday and Sunday. I addition to diving we raise and show quarterhorses. There is a horse equipment auction this weekend that my wife wants to go to. They have a few items up for sale that are expensive, so if we can get them cheap, it would be worth going. We have to juggle both diving and horses. You would see that as soon as I can get my avatar loaded. Our farm name is Sea-Horse Meadows. The logo is the dive flag with a head of a quarterhorse in the middle of it. Divers get the logo, horse people don't. On the back of our horse trailer I have a license plate holder that says...I'd rather be diving.

Anyway, we can keep in touch and see what develops. It looks like ScubaPunk is local also. Nice zip code Scubapunk. We live closer to York Springs but it is a Dillsburg mailing address. We are a few miles down on Franklin Church Road, if you know where that is. Maybe we can get our own dive club started.

Jeff

OK well I called my regular dive bud in Hburg to give him a heads up for Sunday. Just left him a message, hopefully somebody wants to dive. Have fun at the auction. Scuba punk you up for getting wet Sunday at Bainbridge?

My sister used to live on a horse farm in Ky, but they had them stupid horses that, walked funny, nothin that would play in the water and mud. So I never cared for em much, I think there kinda useless if they wont get dirty, hence my driving jeeps now.

Slyvester,

You are probably referring to Tennessee Walking horses. They do walk funny, but if you ever saw them pulling a cart and how fast they go you would be impressed. Our horses like the mud and water. My wife shows English, Western, and Gaming so we have everything covered. It is interesting considering I grew up adjacent to Dutch Springs and never was around a horse in my life to only a few years ago. I call myself the "pit crew". I help get everything ready and my wife does the showing. But she took up diving and learned to love that too, so I can't complain too much. Hopefully you can find a partner for this weekend.

Hopefully next year I will get out diving a few weekends a month. The past two years we built a house, barn and everything that goes with it. So we have only been doing a dive vacation each year to somewhere in the Carribean, and a couple of local dives. I would like to do a lot more local diving. We are mostly done building all the major items, so next year should be a good diving year. We start out with a trip to Roatan in January, so it is a good start.

We can keep in touch and see how things develop.

Jeff

Anyone know if diving is allowed in Fuller Lake? That seems to be within an hour's drive for me. Dutch Springs is about 2.5 hours away and I'd like to keep diving if I could.

Dive Safe,
Dan

sylvester once bubbled...
Dont know about Raytown, I just moved here in July. Fuller Lake is a state area south of Mt Holly, an Old Quarry, water looks very clear compared to a lot of what I have seen here. DNR told me that it was 90 ft deep with some old railroad tracks somewhere. I would not know about it but was task to supervise a group hiking though there and I seen it.

if were taking about the same Fuller lake yes it is allowed, I ask one of the rangers when I was there back in the summer. You just have to check in at the ranger station
