I'm heading down to coz in about two weeks and was wondering what the status of the shore diving in the "front yard" was like since Wilma? Is there anything left to see? I used to enjoy that as a nice relaxing third dive of the day. Also, is anyone aware of the status of one of my favorite reefs in the world Yucab? I know they weren't allowing diving there but are the restrictions now lifted? Has anyone dove it recently? How does it look? Thanks.

I am also very interested in knowing this. My wife and I were the last to dive Caribe Blu before Wilma hit but that's a long, long story, lol. All water activity had already been cancelled and closed except for the moving of boats but we snuck one in anyway before we had to evacuate the hotel because the island had literally shut down with preperation and we had nothing to do but wait and see. I remember thinking during the dive that if Wilma did hit Coz, this little reef area wouldn't do very well. Ofcourse, I never got a chance to see how it did as we spent the next several days riding out the hurricane and then trying to get out of Cozumel to get home. Judging by the damage at the hotel itself, I would say that it could be just sand, small dead mounds, and rubble now. I hope not! Even if so, those juvies have to hang out somewhere so they will return eventually. Not much info on the the dive area itself has been posted. Anyone?

I just got back for Caribe Blu today. I did not do the shore dive but a couple that I met did. Their report was that the reef itself is very damaged but they did see plenty of fish.
