Just say NO to timeshares.

Thanks everyone for the input. I appreciate your help. Lwang, I did one timeshare presentation in Maui... never again, lol. We actually bought the timeshare, but cancelled it the next day. As good as they were at high pressure sales, you should have heard the vitriol when we backed out. It was comedy. The lesson learned: IF you REALLY want to buy a timeshare, the secondary (used) market is the way to go. That was in 2008. We still receive calls asking us to sell our timeshare.

LOL, the 2 times we were looking to rent cars in Cozumel, a timeshare rep found us before we found the car rental office, we just knew to never take the bait. I am surprised when I heard people actually bought them, or worse yet, a second one, after they found out what it really is about after getting their first one.

We have been renting from Margarita for years. Wouldn't rent from anyone else. We make arrangements with her ahead of time and somehow she picks us up at the airport and takes us back at the end of the trip. We have not been to Coz' for several yrs. so I don't know if the taxis give her a hard time or not, but we never had any problems. She has become a good friend. We hear from her often and she asks how things are going and looks forward to our return. We have a family person with cancer which has delay our return but we look forward to visiting again soon.
