Does anyone happen to have any manuals for a mid 70's Mariner?
 
The -II and -PII units run on low oil pressure (72psi or so) vs the previous generation that ran on Hi-PSI oil pressure (750+ psi). Also, the II & PII units while still employing a floating piston have piston rings of a special composite...therefore making the floating piston design more tolerant in running with minimal lubrication. Those are the most notable differences.

Craig: good call on the inverted phases. All of you folks out there....beware...it DOES happen. A simple check is to verify which way the "wind" is blowing when your start-up your machine each day.
