Just got back from vacationing at Cape Ann. Unfortunately, no time to get any dives in :( Did get to talk to a few locals, though, and I will definitely be packing my gear next time. Talked to a couple of guys heading into Folly Cove, and got to watch OW classes at Back Beach (did I really look like that?!; at least I didn't have a neon colored snorkel. No offense meant to anyone that does!). One thing I was surprised at were the number of divers who didn't clip their gear to their BCs. I even saw one guy at Back Beach (a non-student) walking into the water, swinging his torso around, so he could grab his console to take a peek at it, then just dropping it and letting it swing away, along with his octo. I'm sure this happens at a lot of dive spots, but just something I noticed, even with my admittedly limited experience. Overall, a good vacation, but crappy weather. Great food up there, by the way.
