cape ann dive

Did a nice dive today at the beach next to pebbles beach today. I forget the name of the beach, but it is one of the easiest entiries. Had I known about this beach I'd have about 10 more dives in this year.

It may not be the deepest beach, but you can still see and do alot at 20 feet. If I was ong to do a solo dive for the first time this would be the place I'd start at.

How was the vis and were ther any nice rocky areas to poke around in ?

It is called Cape Hedge Beach, vis was about 25' left (east) of the reef and about 20' right of the reef, and yes, it has nice poky areas. Maybe next time I will go all the way around the reef.

For those who do not know about Cape Hedge Beach, "the reef" becomes an island at low tide.

Is that aka 'the hedges'? Heard that is an awesome dive! Almost did it a few weeks ago but ended up at back beach. I'll have to insist going there next time I'm up that way.

Its ok I didn't mind parking a little down the street. It was a great site, plus it is the only site that I've found so far that I'd be willing to try solo.
