anyone ever have any experiance with these cases canon makes for their digital still cameras? model im looking at is the wp-dc600 for my canon elph digital s200 camera. I see that they make underwater caes for them good to 100 feet, Has anyone heard any pro/cons to going this route or using their cases? My camera kicks butt for land pix, but im curious to see if it will do decent underwater at say 50-75 feet and if it will hopefully stay water tight and not ruin my 400 camera. thanks for any info.

Ive got the lower spec Canon Powershot A40 with the case which is rated to "100ft/30m" depth.

Ive used it down to 40m without problems. My only real complaint is the case/camera combo is very positively buoyant which is fine in case you drop it off a boat but a pain when diving as it keeps floating up above my head or in front of the mask on the clip/line. Nothing some plastecine wouldnt solve though.

Another possible gripe is there is no shroud making the display screen slightly hard to see underwater if there is bright ambient light. Not a problem where i dive though :)

awesome, sounds like an alright thing then. 150 bux for the case kinda sux and i paid 400 for the camera but I guess considering the prices of some good quality U/W cams I guess thats not to bad of a price. Got any U/W photos i could see that were taken with that cam at 50feet +?

Here are some OK shots that I took recently in MX:

If those don't work, most of the album is here

(about 60ft depth in good vis)

mounted on an Ikelite tray. Instead of a strobe, I use the UW Kinetics HID Light Canon. I get zero backscatter and absolutely true color. Have used this setup down to it's rated depth of 100ft with great success.

The light canon comes with filters so you can spread the light as much as you want (even at night) and avoid the dreaded "hotspot"

This is the set up my sweetie has, but I have yet to get my hands on it. He did have a minor flood, but it was user error, as these things usually are. I will look around and see what pix I can find to show you.
