Hi all, I have been diving with my Canon SD630 and it's WP-DC3 housing for about a year now and as many of you predicted I'm starting to have my eye wander to strobes and other accessories. My question is, I'm having trouble finding any accessories for this rig, is it just not designed for anything more extravagant? It does have a small threaded hole at the bottom of the housing which is for it's optional little weights, has anyone designed their own handles or strobes? Also, I haven't found any additional lenses. Does the Canon SD630 with WP-DC3 get any better than just a camera and a housing?

Inon makes an ad mount base for the WP-DC3 housing so you can attach Inon's AD mount lenses (wide angle, or macro, or get both and swap them during the corse of the dive). LINK

Apart from attaching the weights, the threadded hole on the bottom is also used for attaching base trays onto which strobe arms go (the Inon mount base also attaches to the housing using this hole. If you're not interested in the Inon mount base, then you have many options for a base to which you can add arms and strobes (fantasea, sea&sea, ultralight, and so on). If you are interested in the mount base, you will have to wait for someone else to chime in on what types of base plates and arms you can use with it. I've never used this type of set up and don't know.

In other words, yes, the simple housing can be built on to make it "better".
